Organizations

Two key non-profit organizations are associated with RFK Camp #289. These two entities provide skilled guidance and operational support for RFK programs. Both of these organizations have their own governance and they are distinct and independent legal entities.

For The Children (FTC) is the national organization that trains camp directors and manages Royal Family KIDS camps in the US and internationally. They provide staff training and operational standards for RFK camps nationwide. Think of FTC as a franchiser, and RFK Camp #289 is one of their franchisees. This arrangement ensures the quality of the FTC leadership, safety, and curriculum standards are consistently maintained for RFK Camps nationwide.


For The Children, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity, operating in Orange County, California since 1994 and registered with the Internal Revenue Service. See Guidestar for more details about FTC.  


North Haven Ministries (NHM) meets people at their point of need. Whether its food, health concerns, or the need for a safe place, they work to meet those needs with compassion.  RFK Camp #289 is one of numerous compassionate ministries operated by NHM. They provide operational support, accounting services, financial and donor management and oversight, insurance, and other services to ensure our camps are successful.  Financial gifts to support RFK Camp #289 are processed through NHM.


North Haven Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit religious, charitable and educational organizational, operating in Wake County, North Carolina since 2015 and registered with the Internal Revenue Service. 

Supporting Churches

RFK Camp enjoys a wonderful relationship with churches in our area, all of whom share our passion for assisting children in foster care. They provide financial support, volunteers, expertise, and logistic services to help make RFK Camp a reality each year. 

North Haven Church

North Haven Church in Raleigh, NC has served as the host church for RFK camp #289 from our first year.  They continue to support with financial and logistical helps, including space for volunteer training.


Mount Moriah

Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC is a historic church with a vision of demonstrating the gospel through practical means. In addition to financial assistance and volunteer help, their pastor, Rev. Mike Tolar, is a gifted children's minister and serves as the RFK camp pastor.


Poplar Springs

Poplar Springs Christian Church in Raleigh, NC is a long-term supporter of RFK camp, both with financial assistance and volunteers. Many of their volunteers are part-timers who help with the processing of campers when they arrive at the registration area each year..
