Send a Child to Camp

Royal Family KIDS was created for elementary aged children in foster care. Our program, our camp activities, and our services reflect the needs of children ages 6 - 11. All children at our camp have experienced some form of relational trauma through abuse, neglect, abandonment, or trafficking. Each RFK staff member undergoes annual training to be prepared to adapt to sensitive camper needs throughout the week.

One of our favorite things to see at camp is a pair of siblings reunited. Often biological siblings are separated while in foster care. Camp is a place for reunion and happy memories to be made together.

At Camp #289, like all RFK camps, we have a limited number of camper spots. Should you apply and not be granted a spot, our Child Placement Coordinator will work with other local camps to try and provide a spot for your child in another camp location.

Wondering if a child is eligible for Royal Family KIDS camp? Review these basic eligibility requirements...

  • Ages 6 - 11,
  • Under the direct custody of social services the first year applying (If a child is later returned to the biological home or adopted, that child is still eligible for camp as a returning camper in future years.), and
  • Completion and submission of a camper application.

Note:  While the camp is free and no cost to our campers or their foster families, a caregiver is responsible for providing transportation to and from the camp registration area on Monday and Friday mornings of camp week.
